Divine Inspiration
In the words of visionary film-maker David Cronenberg, "There are records you listen to when you want diversion, and there are records you go to when you're in spiritual trouble." We asked an array of today's brightest stars to tell us about the artists they feel provide the greatest sustenance in time of turmoil and upheaval.
So who do our favorite bands turn on and drop out to? Perhaps it was buying that first twelve- inch at thirteen that caused them to write the records that we're buying now. We want to know how the influential are influenced, and by whom. Whether it's the cutting- edge rhythm of Planxty, admiring the 'geek aesthetic' carried by David Byrne, or simply song- writing so perfect as to induce goose bumps, these are the artists who provide divine inspiration.
