'Did Trouble Me' is taken from the Welsh stallion's upcoming religiously-minded album Praise And Blame, which Island vice-pres David Sharpe has already slated, saying of his new signee that he was furious to have "paid for a Mercedes" and ended up with a "hearse." Way to kick a pensioner when he's down. Still, the 70-year-old proves he's a sex bomb with a heart (and a banjo!) on this gospel-infused number. Tom Waits he ain't, but the drawl's in the right place.
