Derry Heiress
CARA DILLON OPENS her solo account with the release through Rough Trade of her eponymous album.
A former member of Oiga and Equation, the Derry songstress has been causing major waves in the UK with her patented brand of nu-folk.
The 25-year-old’s fan club includes labelmate David Kitt who’s currently remixing two of the stand-outs, ‘Black Is The Colour’ and ‘Donald Of Glencoe’.
Not adverse to extracurricular activities herself, Dillon lines up alongside Sinéad O’Connor, Jane Siberry, Caroline Dale and Lucinda Drayton on the new Ghostland elpee, Interview With An Angel.
The brainchild of former Sinéad associate John Reynolds, the opus also features contributions from Brian Eno, Liam O Maonlai and Richard Norris, and is released this week by Instant Karma.
