After announcing a string of North American gigs last week for his intimate 'A Promised Return' tour, Dermot Kennedy has now expanded the run of shows – revealing new Irish, European and UK dates this morning. Those include headline shows at Belfast's Ulster Hall (September 21) and Dublin's 3Olympia Theatre (September 22 & 23).
"'A promised return' means so much to me," the Irish singer-songwriter reflected on Instagram last week. "It’s a lyric I wrote in a song recently, and in this context I love it because I feel so excited to return to you guys and see you again, but this is also a return to a feeling. These are the kind of shows I dreamed of before I had a career. Just me and my lyrics, playing in quiet theatres, all of us getting what we need from the words. In the last 10 years, I still haven’t come across a feeling better than that..."
In a new post today, he has stated that the tour will feature songs "stripped right back to their core, like the day they were written."
"I feel like you guys have wanted me to play gigs like this for a while now, so I’m glad to be able to bring my music to you in this way," he continued. "I can’t wait for you to see this show! Thanks for the support, I truly feel it."
The European/UK leg of the tour will also take Dermot to Paris, Antwerp, Cologne, Berlin, Zurich, Amsterdam, and London.

The Rathcoole star released his latest single, 'Let Me In', in March. It followed his 2024 four-track EP, I've told the trees everything, released last year.
