Johnny Depp has lauded Shane MacGowan as one of the most important poets of the 20th century.
Depp told the BBC that MacGowan is: "unpredictable. He's definitely not boring. He's a magnificent man and species. He's a special being. To me, he's one of the most important poets of the 20th century."
The pair worked together on the score of Depp's new film The Lone Ranger, recording a new version of the classic trad tune 'Poor Paddy Works On The Railway.'
However, 2013 does not mark the beginning of their working relationship as the two collaborated on a song 'That Woman's Got Me Drinking' back in 1994.
During the interview, Depp also spoke about working with Oasis on Be Here Now describing his time working with Noel Gallagher on the island of Mustique as "high velocity."
