Deftones sponsor their local youth football team and launch new jersey
The band are set to play two shows in Dublin next year.
Deftones have announced that they will sponsor Los Jaguares, a youth football team from Oak Park, Sacramento, the neighbourhood where the group first formed.
As part of the collaboration with GOAL Projects, the band have designed the team’s official 2026 home and away kits, released today as a limited-edition drop.
The sponsorship helps fund free access to the sport for Los Jaguares, a co-ed team of 40 players aged 11–14, and will contribute to expanded field availability, coaching resources, nutrition support, and wider opportunities for young athletes in underserved communities. Many of the players share the band’s Mexican-American heritage.

The collaboration arrives during a milestone year for Deftones, who recently returned with private music, their first studio release in five years.
Formed in 1988, the Sacramento band have sold over 10 million records globally, and gathered over 10 billion-plus streams. Their catalog includes the 2000’s 2X-Platinum White Pony—which earned the group’s first Grammy—as well as the Platinum-certified Diamond Eyes (2010), Koi No Yokan (2012), and Ohms (2020).
Deftones are set to play two shows in Ireland next year with a 3Arena show scheduled for February 16 and a show at Dublin’s Irish Museum of Modern Art on August 25. Limited tickets for both shows are still available.
