Dedication to My Ex (Miss That Pussy)

Maybe it’s because I just got around to downloading the entire OutKast back catalogue, but I firmly believe that André 3000 is too brilliant a lyricist to appear on a song that contains the line ‘Where did your pussy go?’ Sadly, the best-dressed man in hip hop did indeed agree to add a rhyme to ‘Dedication To My Ex’ the latest single from Stateside R ‘n’ B hunk Lloyd. It helps that the track falls somewhere between Cee-Lo’s ‘Fuck You’ and Duffy’s ‘Mercy’, and that at times, Lloyd sounds remarkably similar to Off The Wall-era Michael Jackson, but for the most part, this is a perfect example of how a radio edit can save a track’s ass. At least André has the last laugh when he drops the best line of the song, ‘What? Why so quiet?/Hate that all of our memories happen in a Hyatt’.
