David Keenan announces new album Modern Mythologies
The record comes out on November 21.
David Keenan has announced his new album Modern Mythologies, due out on November 21.
To celebrate the record’s launch, he will be playing a special invite-only show at London’s famous Irish pub The Devonshire.
Modern Mythologies includes the recent singes ‘Poison Water’, ‘50 Quid Man’ and ‘Amelioration’, described as “channelling Irish storytelling tradition” with “an eye for an observational detail.”

Keenan comments: “This album took three years to make as life happens on its own terms but from its beginnings to the final stages I wanted to keep writing about where I was at.
“We’re left with a collection of songs that connect storytelling threads from mythology to memes and everything in between and to me sound like tributes to the human spirit in all its contradiction, glory and curiosity.”
The album was solely written by Keenan, who co-produced the set in three studios alongside Gavin Glass, Pete Baldwin and Cian Synnott.
Accompanying the release, the Dundalk singer-songwriter will play various dates across Ireland this October as part of the Chasing Myth tour, including venues in all four provinces, such as stops in Dingle, Ballina and Kilkenny.
Modern Mythologies will be released as a twelve-track vinyl and a sixteen-track digital deluxe edition. Pre-order the new record here.
