Dan Sartain - Pass This On
One of my absolute favourite musical misfits, Dan Sartain emerges from the wilderness this fortnight with the utterly ace re-imagining of the Knife’s ‘Pass This On’. Imbued with the spirit of punk and Jim Beam, the single sees the Alabama native in a more introspective mood in the wake of 2012’s 19 minute long, Ramones-inspired Too Tough To Live. His reverb-drenched croon is scored perfectly with a lilting guitar, xylophone and sugary backing vocals. Inspired and unhinged in equal measure, the single bodes well for the upcoming LP, Dudesblood.
