Damon Albarn comes to Vicar Street
His Honest Jon Chop Up collective are over in November
As if we weren't excited enough at the thought of musical renaissance man and all-round melodic genius Damon Albarn pitching up at this year's Cork Jazz Festival on October 28, he has just announced plans to take to the Vicar Street stage as well. He'll be over on November 1.
Both performances will see Albarn bring his brand new Honest Jon Chop Up musical motley crew with him, and it makes for quite the big-name line-up. Alongside the sometime-Blur frontman will be RHCP's Flea, Tony Allen, Phil Cohran, Fatoumata Diawara, Hypnotic Brass Ensemle, Theo Parrish and many, many more. The 25-strong line-up are only playing four shows worldwide this year, so for chrissakes get yourself to Cork or Dublin if you can. Just make sure you don't roar for a 'Parklife' encore.
Tickets for the Dublin date are €42.50 and go on sale on Friday August 19 from Ticketmaster outlets and [link]www.ticketmaster.ie[/link].
