Damien Dempsey to play live in Dublin
Dempsey has two upcoming gigs being filmed for BBC and RTE television
Expect the Donaghmede faithful to be out in force on June 14 when their favourite son Damien Dempsey plays the Temple Bar Music Centre.
The gig is being filmed by the BBC as part of a new series, The History Of Folk, which will screen next year.
To atone for this colluding with a foreign channel – tsch! – Damo’s also performing An Audience With… show out at RTE on June 3.
Airing in September, the series is aimed at 10 to 18 year-olds and will also feature Daniel Bedingfield, George Murphy and Mundy. If you fit into that age bracket and want to score some free tickets, mail [email protected] ASAP.
Meanwhile, Dempsey has two new singles to promote – the UK one featuring ‘Sing All Our Cares Away’ and ‘Schooldays Over’, and the Irish one, ‘Patience’, which includes a new Brian Eno mix.
