Cyclefly get Linked up
Who's that growling over the top of the new Cyclefly album? Why, that's Linkin Park's Chester Bennington, that is...
Linkin' Park singer Chester Bennington is one of the guests on the new Cyclefly album, Crave, which is due next month through Radioactive.
Having befriended the Linkin' boys last year on a European tour, the Cork metallers invited Bennington to lend his trademark growl to the dark, yet insanely hummable 'Karma Killer'.
"Crave is definitely more song oriented and less punky (than our last album, Generation Sap)," reflects guitarist Ciaran O'Shea. "We got more into the writing this time, trying different chord progressions and stuff.
"We rented this house at the edge of this cliff, on the outskirts of Cork, called Powerhead," he continues. "It's like five miles to the nearest house. Total isolation. But it helped us to focus more. We did the last album in LA – it was our first time there so we partied all the time. Working in the country, though, mellowed us."
Produced by Fear Factory and Machine Head man Colin Richardson, the other stand-outs include 'No Stress', 'Drive' and the surprisingly delicate title-track.
