Curtisy announces debut album with new single ‘Lower Your Hopes’
Tallaght rapper Curtisy shares the first single from his upcoming album What Was the Question.
Quickly finding himself at the forefront of the new wave in Irish hip hop, Tallaght based rapper Curtisy has announced the release of his debut album What Was the Question, set to hit streaming platforms on 3 May. The news is coupled with the release of Curtisy’s latest single ‘Lower Your Hopes’ out now.
Drawing inspiration from the likes of Wiki and Earl Sweatshirt, Curtisy has found his niche as a lush, abstract hip hop artist, carrying an air of punk charisma and laid-back energy.
Born Gavin Curtis, the underground artist found his start during the 2020 COVID lockdown, amassing a whirlwind following after self-releasing music on YouTube and SoundCloud.
Curtisy’s carefree vocals, characterized by a leisurely pace and relaxed tone, are paired with modern beats to create a refreshingly authentic sound often characterized as ‘dreary rap.’
