Crew can't go to the ball
So Solid Crew have been controversially dropped from May 10th's Trinity Ball.
While no one from the Students' Union was available for comment today, it's understood that the college authorities were worried about the group's reputation for attracting violence.
The good news for So Solid fans is that the Mean Fiddler / POD Organisation - who are booking the Ball - have moved their appearance to the Dublin Red Box.
Despite the loss of the London drum 'n' bass collective, the extravaganza still features such diverse talents as Orbital (DJ set), Supergrass, David Kitt, Paddy Casey, Royskopp, Sharon Jones & The Dapp Kings, The Tom Jones Experience, The Glen Miller Legacy, the Camembert Quartet and a number of yet-to-be-announced acts.
As in previous years, there'll be four distinct stages dotted around the D2 campus. Tickets priced 57 Euro are on sale now, but are only available to Trinity students, graduates and people who can befriend one or t'other by the start of next month!
