CMAT shares 'I Wanna Be A Cowboy, Baby!'
CMAT has been selected to appear at the Ireland Music Week showcase in Dublin in early October.
CMAT has released a brand new single, called 'I Wanna Be A Cowboy, Baby!' The melancholy Americana-goes-pop track is the singer's third single, following 'Another Day (kfc)' and 'Rodney'.
With subtle vocal nods to Iris DeMent, CMAT says 'I Wanna Be A Cowboy, Baby!' is "mainly about urban isolation.
"About having all of the freedom and resources to do whatever you want but still choosing to do nothing out of deeply-embedded social anxiety and detachment from your own emotions. Sometimes you just turn around and ask yourself, 'Why is my life crap? I don’t do anything, Why not?'. I never really have an answer to that, but I wish it was different. I want to be a cowboy instead."
CMAT’s debut Irish headline shows were announced in July, and her two Dublin dates sold out in under 90 minutes each. The socially-distanced shows take place in October.
