All proceeds raised on the night will go to fund the Dublin Rape Crisis Centre
Musical icon Christy Moore will play a special concert in aid of the Dublin Rape Crisis Centre this Autumn.
The gig takes place on September 8, at Dublin's Vicar Street, with all proceeds raised at the event going towards funding the essential services the Dublin Rape Crisis Centre provides.
“Dublin Rape Crisis Centre is truly grateful to Christy for his support for our work," said DRCC CEO, Noeline Blackwell. "The work to end sexual violence needs champions. Christy is one of those champions. With his help, and the funding that we will get from this concert we will continue to work to support the victims of rape and sexual abuse. In addition, we will carry on the campaign to end the harm that is done by sexual violence to make our society safer and healthier.”
Christy Moore said he was honoured to perform for such a worthy cause, especially since their vital services have suffered from substantially funding cuts in recent years. "The work of the Rape Crisis Centre has been severely compromised by these cutbacks," said the singer. "We fully support the essential service they provide."
