She's doing her legendary country thing in Dublin & Belfast
The extremely wonderful Carlene Carter makes a rare trip to Ireland for shows in Whelan’s, Dublin (February 23) and the Empire Music Hall, Belfast (25).
She’ll be plugging her recently released Stronger album, which Elvis Costello rightly reckons to be “astounding.”
The daughter of June Carter Cash and her first husband Carl Smith – Johnny was her stepdad – she was a more frequent visitor to these shores during the ‘80s when she was married to ex-husband Nick Lowe.
The northern date is part of the annual Belfast Nashville Songwriters Festival, which also features the likes of Phil Vassar, Nanci Griffith, The Lost Brothers, Mundy and Iain Archer – see www.belfastnashville.com for the full line-up.
