BTS and The Weeknd take top spots on Irish charts
Hype around the K-pop group has skyrocketed, giving them their first number one album in Ireland.
BTS have claimed their first number 1 album in Ireland this week with their highly-anticipated Map of the Soul. On the singles front, The Weeknd's 'Blinding Lights' climbed to the top, knocking Billie Eilish's 'No Time To Die' down to spot number 3 after her massive success last week.
Map of the Soul, the K-pop group's seventh studio album, also claimed the year's biggest week of physical sales. Physical sales also gave Stormzy's Heavy Is The Head a boost this week, as the vinyl release pushed him to the format's top-selling spot.
Grimes, Ozzy Osbourne and King Krule also made news with their albums from last week. Grimes' Miss Anthropocene scored her highest chart placement ever in Ireland at spot 20, Ozzy got his first Top 50 album of the millennium with Ordinary Man and King Krule made his Top 50 debut with Man Alive!
The Weeknd's new single 'After Hours' debuted at number 14, the highest new entry this week, but 'Blinding Lights' remains a popular favourite.
