Taking time off air, the Newstalk host has issued a statement on his health. He hopes to be back in the New Year.
The Dubliner joined Newstalk in 2008 after beginning his radio career in the 90s at 98FM. While recuperating in hospital, Richie McCormack has been filling the void.
In a statement, Dunne said: “Due to a recent health issue, I regret to announce that I am required to cancel my radio show with Newstalk and the upcoming Christmas shows with Something Happens over the coming weeks.
“I had surgery last week and I am doing well. I am in the best of hands, receiving the best of care and surrounded by family and loved ones. I hope to be causing trouble again with renewed vigour in the New Year.”
Upcoming Christmas shows with his band, Something Happens, will also be cancelled.
Hot Press wishes Tom a speedy recovery.
