Brigitte Calls Me Baby announce Dublin gig
The date is the kickoff of their UK & EU tour
Brigitte Calls Me Baby have announced a Dublin gig later this year. The Chicago-based alt-rock band will play at Whelan's on September 9.
The date marks the kickoff of a wider European tour spanning nine shows. The band has recently completed a run of North American dates and has previously supported Inhaler, Morrissey and opened for The Strokes.
The four-piece group released their second studio album Irreversible in March. Frontman Wes Leavins said: “There was a time when I tried to bury the kind of feelings we’re expressing on this record, but now I’m at the point where I don’t feel the need to repress anything whatsoever.”
The album was co-produced by sibling duo Yves Rothman and Lawrence Rothman (known for work with Angel Olsen and Bartees Strange).
Hot Press reviewed Irreversible as: “While BCMB certainly wear their influences on their sleeve, Irreversible still sounds invigoratingly fresh.”
Tickets go on sale Friday, 29 at 10am here.
