Brian McFadden to release covers album
He'll tackle Irish artists such as U2 and Damien Rice.
Brian McFadden has announced the March 8 release of his The Irish Connection covers album.
Recorded in Dublin and Sydney, it includes duet versions of Aslan’s ‘Crazy World’ with Christy Dignam, Christy Moore’s ‘Black Is The Colour’ with Sinéad O’Connor and U2’s ‘All I Want Is You’ with Ronan Keating.
Also getting the distinctive McFadden treatment are The Cranberries’ ‘Dreams’, Damien Rice’s ‘9 Crimes’, Mary Black’s ‘No Frontiers’, Enya’s ‘Only Time’, Snow Patrol’s ‘Chocolate’. Van Morrison’s ‘Moondance’ and ‘Nothing Compares 2 U’, which if one were to be pedantic is actually an American song.
“This is something I’ve wanted to do for a long time,” reflects the former Westlife man. “Ireland has produced some of the greatest songs in history and I decided I would put my own twist on a collection of my favourite ever Irish songs.”
