Boogie Playground
DJ T’s singles for Get Physical never fail to deliver, but can the much hyped German spinner maintain his floor rocking ability over the space of a full length album? Apart from the crap name, he has succeeded, primarily because he has stuck to what he knows best, and that's making great underground house music.
DJ T’s singles for Get Physical never fail to deliver, but can the much hyped German spinner maintain his floor rocking ability over the space of a full length album? Apart from the crap name, he has succeeded, primarily because he has stuck to what he knows best, and that's making great underground house music. Inspired mainly by Chicago and the intricate production technique that is the trademark sound of his engineers, Booka Shade, ‘Playground’ is the ideal soundtrack for small sweaty clubs, and while he flirts with Detroit techno and Italo, it’s just window dressing: his real inspiration is the Windy City’s primal funk, re-interpreted for forward-looking European tastes.
