The Westmeath music and arts festival announce an array of new acts including Gary Numan.
The already eclectic and exciting line up for this year’s Body & Soul festival got all the more enticing this morning with the announcement of a slew of big name acts.
‘80s electro pioneer and former Tubeway Army front-man, Gary Numan, will be taking to the main-stage not only to play the hits but for the Irish debut of tracks from his most recent project, the haunting Splinter (Songs From A Broken Mind). Since it’s release the album has garnered near universal critical acclaim and has been Numan’s most commercially successful release in 30 years.
Other bands announced include Swedish dance star and critical darling The Field who’ll be bringing his own particular take on Minimal Techno to Ballinlough Castle at some stage over the course of the weekend. Exciting news for indie fans also as Georgia’s technicolor agit-popster Of Montreal are also sure to wow Body & Soul revellers with their famously high-energy and unpredictable live show.
This morning’s news also carried the announcement that some of the countries’ premier club-nights will be represented on the festival site this year, with after-hours parties hosted by the likes of Hidden Agenda, Mother and Airbound/Nightflight sure to keep festivities going until the wee hours.
