UK post-punk band English Teacher will perform a headline show at the 3Olympia Theatre in Dublin on November 8, 2025.
The announcement follows a busy period for the Leeds group, who won the 2024 Mercury Prize for their debut album This Could Be Texas - described by Hot Press as a "wonderfully accomplished debut from a hugely promising act."
The band formed while studying at Leeds Conservatoire, and includes Lily Fontaine (vocals), Lewis Whiting (lead guitar, synth), Douglas Frost (drums, piano, vocals) and Nicholas Eden (bass).
“We’re very much our own worst critics so it did take us a long time to do the album and get it the way we wanted” explains Frost, “It was a bit of a struggle for us all, but we’re really proud of how it turned out.”

Signed to Island Records, the band's 2023 single ‘Nearly Daffodils’ was included in the top ten songs of 2023 by TIME Magazine. The group first gained recognition with their 2021 track ‘R&B’ and debut EP Polyawkward.
They have toured with Parquet Courts and the Yeah Yeah Yeahs and performed at Glastonbury and Leeds Festival.
English Teacher are also set to play at this year's All Together Now.
Tickets for their upcoming 3Olympia gig will go on sale on Monday, May 12 at 10am and can be found here.
