Bob Dylan to release new bootleg series Through the Open Window
The collection will showcase never before released recordings from Bob Dylan's early days.
Columbia Records and Legacy Recordings have announced that they will release Bob Dylan's Bootleg Series Vol. 18: Through the Open Window, 1956-1963 on October 31.
This set of recordings will capture Bob Dylan's early years as artist, beginning with his teenage years in his home state of Minnesota in 1956 and into his early twenties in New York City's Greenwich Village.
The collection will include previously unreleased outtakes, live recordings from gigs, and recordings taken in more intimate moments such as in private gatherings and small jam sessions.
The collection concludes with the entire unreleased recording of Dylan's performance at Carnegie Hall on October 26, 1963, a concert many consider to be the beginning of Dylan's successful, decades long career.
The physical editions of the collection will include a 125-page essay from American historian Sean Wilentz, author of Dylan In America.
Preorders begin today and can be accessed here.
