Going by the name of tUnE-yArDs, Merrill Garbus is one California Gurl you won't find frolicking about in the astral candy floss with Snoop Dogg. For the uninitiated, Garbus is the lo-fi whiz kid behind 2009's BiRd-BrAiNs, and you’re more likely to find her basking in African rhythms and strumming a ukulele.
