Bitten By An Ape
Hard rock duo put up a game fight but fail to land knockout punch
Bitten By An Ape are an Italian duo who swap music with each other via-the interweb (Alexander Cecilia lives in Dublin and Lorenzo Salvagni resides in North Carolina). All eight tracks on their first album feature piano-heavy soft rock and while they’re expertly put together, they lack the teeth suggested by the band’s moniker. Bitten By An Ape may be an interesting concept, but in practice the likes of ‘Never Learn’ and ‘Orange’ lack identity and focus. Still, the impressive ‘Rewired’ shows what they’re capable of. File under ‘Have Potential’.
