Big name added to Assassin's Creed film
French actress Marion Cotillard has joined Michael Fassbender in the hyped video game adaptation
Film adaptations of video games have a bit of a bad rep, and that's not without good reason (see Need for Speed, Doom, Mortal Kombat, Hitman, etc). But we have reason to have faith in the upcoming Hollywood take on Assassin's Creed with two big players confirmed in the cast; Michael Fassbender and, now, Marion Cotillard.
You might be scratching your heads at an Academy Award winning actress and Academy Award nominated actor getting involved in the project. To be frank, so are we. But we're optimistically concluding that it means something pretty good is in store.
The film will be directed by Justin Kurzel who, interestingly enough, has an adaptation of MacBeth also starring Fassbender and Cotillard expected to see release this year.
Assassin's Creed is set to start shooting this Fall with a planned release date of December 30, 2016.
