Best Behaviour
In the increasingly bland, one-dimensional world of dance music there’s nothing better than discovering that the renegade, maverick spirit still exists.
In the increasingly bland, one-dimensional world of dance music there’s nothing better than discovering that the renegade, maverick spirit still exists. After all, it was this devil may care approach that originally made dance culture so exciting, an ethic that has been central to Scottish producer Chris Cowie’s career since day one.
Black listed by the elite for his involvement with the Hook trance label, Cowie’s output on his Bellboy imprint has never been anything short of inspirational. This, his first artist compilation to date, condenses the highlights from his two hundred odd releases into twenty-two tracks.
Consisting mainly of deep yet dance floor friendly grooves, it also proves Cowie can turn his hand to styles as diverse as teeth rattling techno, funky progressive house and even the odd torch song without losing his momentum. Just this once, believe the hype and get acquainted with Chris Cowie.
