Berkeley lead the host of Irish albums released in 06
Having spent most of 2005 in the studio, Berkeley reemerge this month with their second album, In Moments.
Along with the title-track, it features ‘Here At Last’, ‘Bleeding Heart’, ‘No More Shall We Talk’, ‘Give It A Rest’, ‘Elevator Music’, ‘Perfect Sentiment’, ‘The Mess (We’re In)’, ‘With A Nervous Eye’, ‘Weighed Down’ and ‘Coming Up For Air’.
Another artist who’s been busy of late in the studio – to be precise, Levon Helm’s one in Woodstock – is David Kitt.
Says an official spokesperson: “There will be a couple of singles prior to the album, which will hopefully see the light of day in the first part of this year. Kittser did some recording in New York with The Magic Numbers while he was on US tour with them, so expect a guest appearance! Plans are also in motion for a Dublin gig.”
Meanwhile, word reaches us from LA that expat Dubliners La Rocca have just released their first Stateside EP through Dangerbird.
Although bearing the same title as their 2004 Irish chart resident,Sing Song Sung is culled from the band’s recent sessions with Beck, Thrills and Belle & Sebastian man Tony Hoffer.
