Benjamin Francis Leftwich makes Dublin bow
Ask nicely and he might play his Arcade Fire cover.
The splendidly named Benjamin Francis Leftwich pays a pre-Paddy’s Day visit to Dublin on March 14 for a show in the Academy 2.
The 21-year-old Yorkshireman has, with some justification, been compared to the late Elliot Smith but also has a Beatles-y pop thing going on.
Currently gearing up for the release of his debut Bleeps album, Leftwich is the rather unlikely co-author of Cascada’s ‘Hold Your Hands Up’ and caused a bit of a stir last year when he covered Arcade Fire’s ‘Rebellion’ for BBC Radio 2.
