Ben Howard 'Conrad' - Track Review

“The more attention I got, the less I wanted it,” offered the insanely successful folk singer on his rapid rise to fame recently. Clearly uneasy with his new-found celebrity status, his current record, I Forget Where We Were is very much “the difficult second album”, and finds him struggling in a variety of ways. There are some brief cracks of light on this dark record, however, and one of them is ‘Conrad.’ A hushed, heart-string tugging hymn, the six-minute track is a little on the long side but the hook is simply mesmerising.
