Belongings
I hasten to imagine what the Pro Tools file of ‘Belongings’ must have looked like, what with the seemingly endless number of synth and vocal layers the alt. rock ditty employs. Helmed by sampling whiz Guy Connelly, this London quintet have a penchant for head-spinningly complex sounds and while it frequently leaves them sounding far too organised for their own good, ‘Belongings’ works because of its looped piano line and sweet melody, if we can even call it that.
