BBC Sounds release new series Mad for Oasis with Noel Gallagher’s daughter as host
“Obviously, Oasis have always been a big part of my life. But to have the opportunity to hear these incredible stories from people about how their music has impacted their lives, has been amazing,” Anaïs Gallagher said.
Ahead of the iconic British rock band's return to the stage, the BBC have launched an exclusive ten-part series, Mad for Oasis.
Hosted by Anaïs Gallagher, Noel’s daughter, the series explores the lasting legacy of the Manchester band through the eyes of their superfans.
Oasis are set to end their fifteen-year hiatus with their reunion tour this summer, following years of public feuding between bandmate brothers Liam and Noel.
The Oasis Live ’25 tour, which marks the band’s first gigs since 2009, will hit Croke Park on August 16 and 17.
Oasis have always had a deeply rooted Irish fanbase - stemming from the Gallagher brothers' Irish heritage, having parents from both counties Mayo and Meath.
An Irish superfan, Karen from New Ross, recalls how Oasis music helped her relationship with her mother, who had been diagnosed with dementia: “an Oasis song helped me connect with my mother in a way I never thought I’d be able to again. Happy or sad, it will always be a massive part of me,” she said.
Mad for Oasis is available from today on BBC Sounds.
