The legendary diva delayed the start of her show by almost an hour in an attempt to accommodate those stuck in lengthy tailbacks trying to reach the Castletown House venue.

Some fans entered the arena to find that their designated seats, which cost up to €500 each, had been taken by opportunistic early arrivals who refused to move. Others claimed that their places simply ‘didn’t exist’.

Concert-goers also criticised the organisation of car parks at the venue, saying there were not enough stewards on duty and inadequate lighting for the poor weather conditions.

Concert promoters MCD and organsiers CPI today apologised to fans in a joint statement. They insisted that the majority of the 17,000 in attendance had enjoyed their night.
