Band Aid 30 'Do They Know It’s Christmas? (2014)' - Track Review
Thirty years on from the release of a song that changed generations of lives, the latest crop of pop talent has assembled to tackle the tune. Featuring the likes of One Direction, Bastille, Ellie Goulding, Elbow, Sam Smith and Bono, this new version of a Christmas favourite has some altered lyrics to reflect Band Aid 30’s chosen charity (tackling the Ebola crisis) and, to quote head honcho Bob Geldof: “It really doesn’t matter if you don’t like this song. It doesn’t matter if you hate the artists. What matters is that you buy the record.” So there you have it, forget about purchasing socks and selection boxes for other people this year and pick up the single instead.
