Asked Her To The Dance

Cork rockers The Vincents have piss-takingly described their musical endeavors as “death pop”, “kitchen beat” and “howtopleaseyourhusband-core”, but having heard new single ‘Asked Her To The Dance’, I’m starting to think that maybe these aren’t such ludicrous descriptions after all. Lyrical melancholy aside (spoiler: she didn’t want to go to the dance), the grungy, plodding bassline and slacker vocal delivery on this fiendishly addictive track were made to soundtrack the story of a neglected and possibly homicidal housewife.
