Arcade Fire, Fiona Apple, Moby, Gorillaz: A week of anti-Trump songs

Some of the music industry's biggest artists have voiced their opposition to the incoming President of the United States ahead of his inauguration.

Arcade Fire mark their return to music by collaborating with Civil Rights activist Mavis Staples for 'I Give You Power'. All proceeds go to the American Civil Liberties Union, and the message on their website reads: “It’s never been more important that we stick together and take care of each other.”

Another significant return to music came in the form of Damon Albarn's Gorillaz, who release 'Hallelujah Money' yesterday, featuring Mercury Prize winner Benjamin Clementine.

Moby, the American electronic musician who once called Trump "an acutal pyschopath" released a striking video for their track "Erupt and Matter", which appears on the 2016 record These Systems Are Failing.

Fiona Apple's 'Tiny Hands' is inter-spliced with Trump's infamous "Grab her by the pussy" quote and needs little explanation. "We don't want your tiny hands/Anywhere near our underpants."

Coco Rosie's 'Smoke 'Em Out', which features the hugely political visual artist and singer Anohni, was released "to inspire the weary-disappointed hearts of so many crest-fallen citizens."
