Arab Strap announce new album Half-Told Tales and Dublin show
They also shared the new single ‘You You You’, out now.
Arab Strap have announced the release of their ninth studio album Half-Told Tales for September 4 via Rock Action Records, as well as an accompanying show in Whelan’s, Dublin on October 12.
They also released the record’s lead single ‘You You You’, described by Arab Strap’s Aidan Moffat as “A sort of disco-metal incantation. With a message of future felicity and fellowship that – fingers crossed – might make you dance and giggle too.”
Check out the new single below:
The Dublin show will mark the first stop of an extensive EU and UK tour, set to wrap up in Parma, Italy on December 13, with stops in Manchester, London, Glasgow, Zagreb, Istanbul and more along the way.
Half-Told Tales comes almost three decades to the day since Arab Strap's first single was released.
“The excitement comes because me and Aidan like and hate different things,” says Malcolm Middleton of the new album. “There are things in the record that individually we might not choose but that’s why I like this album so much, because it's not the one I wanted to make. I don't think it's what Aidan wanted to make either, it's this bit in the middle. It might not be 100% what we want but it's good for the band, and it works.”
