Annabelle Chvostek for Ireland
Canada's Juno award-winning Annabelle Chvostek kicks off her tour of Britain and Ireland with a gig in Belfast on Wednesday, November 11 at The Real Music Club at The Errigle Inn.
She follows this with two further Irish dates, The Playhouse in Derry on November 12 and The Bronte Music Club in Ballyroney, Co Down on November 13.
Now a solo singer-songwriter, Toronto-born Annabelle was previously with the Juno award-winning harmony trio The Wailin’ Jennys and is known for her haunting voice, arresting, image-rich lyrics and genre-hopping ease, be it delving into folk roots or edging near the mainstream.
She plays mandolin, guitar and violin. Last year she released the album Resilience which was nominated for the Contemporary Album of the Year at the Canadian Folk Music Awards. It includes a song co-written with the legendary Canadian singer songwriter Bruce Cockburn.
