Angela Scanlon quits RTÉ to pursue UK projects
The 'Getaways' presenter has left the travel show and has been replaced by Mairead Ronan.
RTÉ presenter, Angela Scanlon, has quit the travel show Getaways to concentrate on work in the UK.
The London based presenter was recently seen holding her own during an interview with controversial columnist, Katie Hopkins. The interview which was aired in both Ireland and the UK saw the 41-year old name herself as the "Jesus for the outspoken" and slam the Irish nation on multiple occasions.
Scanlon, who was being interviewed about her more recent series Close Encounters, married partner Roy Hogan in 2014 and admitted her life was no longer "normal."
"I'm not doing Getaways anymore. I spent a lot of time going back and forth and it was amazing - one of the best jobs I've done," she said.
Mairead Ronan, who also presents Irelands Fittest Family, has now taken over the role and recently traveled to Iceland for her debut episode.
I’m the new presenter of 'Getaways' for RTÉ/BBC. First job Iceland -any recommendations? (should warn you we might mention you on the show)

Angela told The Herald that she thinks Mairead is perfect for the job, "She’s a pal of mine and she’ll be brilliant. She’s great at that sort of thing and her bump is an added extra.”
The presenter is currently co-hosting Robot Wars with Dara OBriain following its recent return to the BBC.
