Allegory And Metaphor
Allegory is an enjoyable atmospheric home listening experience all the way.
Detroit’s Sean Deason may be known for deep club techno tracks like ‘Xirtam’, but this new album sees him forsaking the dancefloor for the sofa. That’s right, Allegory is an ambient album, albeit one that takes its cues from the electronic soul explored on the Red Planet series and Underground Resistance’s deeper productions.
Luckily, Deason has the talent and individuality to ensure tracks like ‘Creation’, ‘Interlude’ and ‘Psybadek One’ don’t end up sounding like mere pastiches of these former Motor City glories. In fact, apart from a house collaboration with fellow Detroit producer Claude Young, Allegory is an enjoyable atmospheric home listening experience all the way.
