Album Chart: Little Mix miss out on third consecutive Number 1 by just SIX combined sales
Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper have won the closest chart race of 2018 so far, edging out Little Mix by a mere six combined sales
The A Star Is Born Soundtrack fended off competition from three major new releases this week. The cast recording spends its seventh week in a row at number one.
LM5, Little Mix’s fifth studio album led the pack all week but ends up just short of the top spot at number two. It would have been the girlbands third consecutive chart-topping album.
Another new arrival was Mumford & Sons’, Delta, which opened at number three. It would have been their third number one album also, at least for now. Michael Bublé’s latest effort, Love, debuts at number four.
This week’s top ten features two Irish entries. Christie Hennessy and the RTÉ Concert Orchestra bows at number nine and farewell record, Thank You & Goodnight by Boyzone is at number 10.
At number 15 is Fleetwood Mac’s 50 Years – Don’t Stop 50th anniversary album. Mark Knopfler’s ninth studio album, Down The Road is at 20.
Damon Albarn-fronted group The Good, The Bad & The Queen is at Number 35 with Merrie Land, while Anderson. Paak’s third studio album Oxnard is just behind at Number 36.
Finally, Diamonds by Elton John is at 33 and The Spice Girls’ Greatest Hits is at 41 following the announcements of their upcoming tours.
