After Love
Adhering to this basic label template, the anonymous Closer Musik prove that they're adept at knocking out deep underground grooves
This has been around for a while, but, given Kompakt’s track record at fusing underground house and techno with pop sensibilities, it seemed worthy of a review. Adhering to this basic label template, the anonymous Closer Musik prove that they’re adept at knocking out deep underground grooves with the spiky metallic percussion on ‘Last’ and the throbbing Euro feel of ‘Giganaten’ providing the highlights.
That’s not Closer Musik’s only forte though: there’s a couple of wilfully odd experimental tracks, especially the echo chamber-led, aptly named ‘Mir’, while, like all Kompakt acts, they throw in the obligatory vocal pop-techno track. This time it’s ‘You Don’t Know Me’, a song that is clearly about self-love.
