AC/DC wrap up new album
The follow-up to 2008's Black Ice was recorded in the absence of founding band member Malcolm Young.
AC/DC have finally finished up work on their newest album following a series of recording sessions in Vancouver.
Lead singer Brian Johnson admitted that the absence of Malcolm Young due to ill health weighed heavily on the band while cutting the latest record. "We miss Malcolm, obviously. He’s a fighter. He’s in [the] hospital but he’s a fighter. We’ve got our fingers crossed that he’ll get strong again," he told Classic Rock Magazine.
The album is set for release sometime later this year or early in 2015. Johnson said that although the album doesn't have a title yet, he had made one suggestion. "I wanted to call the album 'Man Down'. But it's a bit negative and it was probably just straight from the heart. I like that," he said.
For the moment, Malcolm and Angus' nephew Stevie Young has been filling in on rhythm guitar for his uncle and the Ozzy rock legends are now gearing up for the high possibility of a 40-date world tour. We can't wait.
