4 heroes!
And then there were four... presenting the semi-finalists of the Bacardi Hot Press Song Of The Year Competition 2002
It's all over bar the shouting - and the semis, and the finals... because the Bacardi Song of the Year Competition is down to four remaining songs. And here they are...
BEN GLOVER - 'No Direction Home'
(winner against Stephen Reddy/Da Capo 'Getting Down')
THE SUTRAS - 'Machine'
(winner against Tyrone Relph 'Why Can't Friends Be Lovers?')
PETRONELLA - 'Feelin So Low'
(winner against Aidan Lee 'Sidesteppin)
THE INFLATABLE SIDESHOW - 'Tame The Power'
(winner against Mother Of Pearl - 'Borders'
These four songs were chosen by Pet Sounds listeners, after their entries were played on-air and the artists interviewed by Tom Dunne. The intrepid remaining four now go forward into two sets of semi-finals, on Thursday, February 21st. And the 2 winners of those semifinals - the pair of tunes soon to become the Song of the Year 2002 and its runner-up - then go head to head in the final, on Thursday, February 28th.
The winner will be announced on Pet Sounds that night - and on hotpress.com the following morning.
PET SOUNDS is broadcast on Today FM, Monday to Thursday, from 7pm to 10pm.
