2019 Kilkenny Roots Festival Features Patty Griffin, Alejandro Escovedo, and Many More
Taking place over the bank holiday weekend May 3rd- May 6th, Kilkenny Roots Festival brings together some of the finest acts in Americana and Roots music.
First founded in 1998, the Kilkenny Roots Festival plays host to over 40 Irish and international acts for an exciting weekend filled with a broad array of Americana music- from bluegrass, to swing, to rockabilly and more. Previous acts have included Drive-by Truckers, Phosphorescent, Calexico and Alabama Shakes.
This year's stellar lineup will include acclaimed folk singer-songwriter Patty Griffin. A recipient of two Grammy awards, she is also a passionate activist, hosting performances in support of the League of Women Voters and the Jesuit Refugee Service. Among those also appearing are Mexican-American rock musician Alejandro Escovedo, Canadian roots rockers The Sadies and Michael McDermott, who was once described by Steven King as “one of the best songwriters in the world.” See their website for more information about the festival and the complete lineup.
Kilkenny Roots Festival runs Friday May 3rd- Monday May 6th. Tickets are on sale now.
