The fact that My Bloody Valentine's Kevin Shields contributes his immense shredding skills to '2013', Primal Scream's first release in five years, and I'm still going to talk about Bobby Gillespie's lyrics is a triumph in itself, so here it goes; lines like the deliciously passive aggressive, 'What happened to the voices of dissent? Getting rich I guess?' show the Scream's opinionated frontman in career-topping form, his words intermittently overpowering the track's meandering guitars and filthy saxophone.
