Low frontman gets his rocks off one more time
To all intents and purposes, Retribution Gospel Choir is all about Low frontman Alan Sparhawk escaping the expectations of his day job and getting his rocks off. 2 (naturally enough) is their second record and it sounds like a natural follow up to its predecessor. It’s a massive sounding record full of big, diet-Sabbath riffs and Percy Plant-like melody lines, and while there isn’t much in the way of advancement of sound on the record, it does tweak the RGC formula a little and is a welcome addition to Sparhawk’s already impressive body of work.
