Sweetlemondae shares energetic World Cup tune 'Turn The World'
‘Turn The World’ is the official feature track to RTÉ’s coverage of the FIFA Women’s World Cup 2023.
Galway artist Sweetlemondae has shared her empowering new song ‘Turn The World’, dedicated to the Republic of Ireland Women’s National Football Team.
The track, released via Diffusion Labs, was inspired by the Girls in Green’s historic qualification to this summer’s upcoming Women’s World Cup in Australia and New Zealand.
The accompanying music video depicts the positive impact that the team have had on people, placing emphasis on the importance of belief, teamwork, and dedication.
Commenting on the single, Sweetlemondae said that the song is about “flipping the script on anything that has ever been said you, that is intended to deter you from doing what you want. I wanted this song to capture the importance of what the girls in green have been working towards for so many years.”
This week, the Irish Women’s Football Team begin their World Cup journey, as they travel to Australia for their opening game against the host nation. ‘Turn The World’ is the official feature track to RTÉ’s coverage of the FIFA Women’s World Cup 2023, which kicks off on Thursday 20th July.
The 23-year old rapper's journey began at 15, when she first released music on Soundcloud as well as Youtube.
In 2022, she teamed up with Diffusion Lab for her single ‘Never Gonna Be’ which peaked at 48 on the Irish airplays chart. The hip-hop sensation has also played at Forbidden Fruit and Body & Soul Festival.
Sweetlemondae is on the ‘Live on the Harbour’ bill in Dun Laoghaire on Friday, 28th July.
